The Dutch Central Bank observes the development. DMF looks at the entrepreneur.
Business financing sometimes requires a different perspective.
An entrepreneur can have a healthy business, meet their obligations properly, and know exactly where they want to go. And yet, a financing application can fall outside the standard acceptance criteria.
The Dutch Central Bank (DNB) notes that alternative financiers are playing an increasingly important role in financing Dutch small and medium-sized enterprises.
According to DNB, financing via Dutch fintech platforms grew by 27% to €4.4 billion in 2024. The majority of this concerns financing for SMEs.
DNB cites speed, accessibility, flexibility, less strict requirements regarding financial history, and alternative credit assessment methods, among others, as explanations for this growth.
We recognize that at De Mobiliteit Financier.

An entrepreneur is more than a score.
Traditional financing models are necessary. They provide structure and help keep risks manageable. However, a standard model does not always see the full story behind an entrepreneur.
A start-up, for example, does not yet have a long financial history. An entrepreneur may have a BKR registration have incurred, while his company is functioning excellently today. And a company can grow, even though the most recent annual figures barely show that development yet.
That is why we look further.

Our acceptance policy: three pillars
- 1. The financing: Is the monthly obligation justifiable and does it suit the company?
- 2. The vehicle: Do the value, term, and use of the vehicle align with the financing and the entrepreneur?
- 3. The entrepreneur as a person: Who is behind the application? What does the company do? How did the current situation arise? And above all: is the story logical and justifiable?
No annual figures does not automatically mean no financing
We do not ask for by default annual figures. Not because financial information is unimportant, but because historical figures do not always provide the best picture of the company today.
We look at the information needed to make a responsible decision. This may differ for one entrepreneur compared to another.

A BKR registration is information, not an automatic rejection.
Also a negative BKR registration With us, this does not automatically have to mean the end of an application. We want to know what happened, how long ago it was, what the cause was, whether the situation has been resolved, and where the entrepreneur stands today.
A BKR registration is an important source of information for us, but it is not necessarily the final decision.

Starters also deserve a review
A starter By definition, cannot present years of financial history. That does not mean that a start-up cannot be a good entrepreneur.
That is precisely why we look at the business plan behind the application, the affordability, the vehicle, and the entrepreneur themselves.
Sometimes that leads to a yes. And sometimes deliberately to a no.
Because for us, accessible financing does not mean that every application must be approved. It means that every serious application deserves a serious assessment.

Second Opinion: taking a good look one more time after a no
Has an application been rejected elsewhere? Then De Mobiliteit Financier can the application reassess.
Not to automatically reverse a previous decision, but to investigate whether there is information or circumstances that were insufficiently addressed in a standard assessment.
A good lease application is more than just a calculation.
That is why we look at the financing, the vehicle, and the entrepreneur behind the application.
The market is changing
DNB shows that alternative financing within SMEs is growing. We believe there is a clear reason for this.
Entrepreneurs do not just seek financing. They are looking for a financier who understands that not every good entrepreneur fits into the same box.
The Mobility Financier
Financing. Vehicle. Entrepreneur.
